Comment travailler comme un petit Suisse à Washington ?

[ Washington D.C., September 13th 2012, © (rke), english below ] – Salut ! Vous me demandez parfois comment je fais pour travailler aux USA aussi bien qu’en Suisse. Surtout pour Swiss Engineering RTS, la Revue Technique Suisse. Eh, bien c’est simple. Je choisis les endroits calmes, dans la nature, comme ici dans la banlieue de Washington, plus précisément à Potomac. J’ai déniché un hôtel d’affaires familial, le Bolger Center (derrière-moi sur la photo) – pour 80 dollars par nuit – où les businessmen y viennent pour bosser, mais aussi et surtout pour se reposer. C’est difficile de se régler au stress helvétique, car le rythme US fait qu’on avance pas à pas, comme le vieille adage le dit : une chose après l’autre. Et ce, même au pays de l’Oncle Sam et à l’ère des smartphones

Cela dit, j’ai pris cette photo sur le capot arrière de ma Dodge Charger blanche, avec un trépied à minuterie. J’ai juste un regret. Passablement perturbé par le décès de Neil Armstrong, je n’ai pas trouvé une minute pour suivre la réussite du lancement du satellite Metop-B de l’Agence Spatiale Européenne (ESA) de Baïkonour (Kazakhstan). Je vois que je m’occupe un peu trop des Américains. Je vais rattraper le tir dès la semaine prochaine en Suisse.

How peg away like a « little Swiss » in Washington ?

Hi ! Sometimes, somebdy ask me haw can I work in USA, specially in Washington, like a little Swiss journalist. Mostly ans especially for my monthly magazine : Swiss Engineering RTS. Well, it’s basic. I choose a quiet places in nature, such as here in the neighborough in the wood, like precisely here in Potomac.

So, I found a family business hotel, the Bolgen Center (behind me in the photo) – for 80 dollars by night – where businessmen come here to work (for me, peg away), but above all to rest. It’s difficult to adjust to the Swiss stress, because the U.S. cadence is made of one step ahead, as the old adage says : one thing after another. And seven in the land of Uncle Sam and of smartphones age.

That said, I took this photo on the back cover of my white Dodge Charger timer with a tripod. I just a regret. Somewhat disturbed by the death of Neil Armstrong, I have not found a minute to follow the successful launch of Metop-B satellite of the European Space Agency (ESA), fulfiled from Baikonur (Kazakhstan). I see that I deal too much for the American space programm. I'll catch up my shoot the next week in Switzerland.
