Ciel morose, centre spatial d茅sert

[ Cape Canaveral, August 26th 2012, © (rke), english below ] – Ciel gris et lourd, vent 脿 peine perceptible. La r茅gion s’attend 脿 voir passer Isaac, l’ouragan tant annonc茅. (脿 suivre)

Sky gloomy, deserted space center
Strange. The are workers today,
Sunday 26th to the KSC.

Gray sky and heavy wind barely apparent. The neighborhood is expected to see Isaac go, Hurricane as advertised. But for now, goes no panic. Isaac should go to the West, away from us. Meanwhile, the Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is deserted on this Sunday morning. No announcement is made about the death of Neil Armstrong. Normally, we are Sunday, and employees are rare. I even spotted workers scurrying still building the new site that will host the shuttle Atlantis. That’s vous dire. It’s telling. (following)

De Apollo 11 脿 RBSP : hommage 脿 Neil

consacre 4 pages sp茅ciales 脿 Neil Armstrong.
Cap Canaveral.
-        Tu vas encore voir une fus茅e d茅coller, me demande mon entourage, souvent admiratif de mes escapades ?
(脿 suivre)

From Apollo 11 to RBSP : tribute to Neil
This Sunday morning, I get up early for once, shacken by all the news of the death of Neil Armstrong, yesterday. I still have chills. Happening or destiny ? I felt a necessity to come see the launch (almost trivial) of RBSP, from Switzerland to Cape Canaveral.
-        You'll even see a rocket launch, wonder around me, often admiring my escapades ?
-        Yeah, you can not understand. There is not the rocket start, but everything around.
As Apollo 11 where all America has worked hard to put his Neil on the Moon. The satellite RBSP is a bit of Apollo 11 that I would see, but I don’t know yet ... (following)

A environ 5 km de distance 脿 vol d’oiseau, nous sommes install茅s le long de la NASA Causeway, une route qui long la base militaire de l’US Air Force.
-        Eh, regarde, 莽a bouge dans l’eau, 莽a brille…
-        Ah, bon. O

Hurricane Isaac breath its first swirls and the Atlas rocket goes crasy and stay scotched on the ground
Direct in front of the rocket. About 5 km away, we are located along the NASA Causeway, a road along the military U.S. Air Force base.
- Hey, look, it moves in the water, it glitters ...
- Ah, well where ?
- In front ! It’s Alligators!
Yes, it is true, it was alligators, but we had time to go inside in the car. NASA comes just announced the launch is postponed once. We are Friday, August 24, it’s 4am.
Saturday, August 25, 3am. I set my Canon on my tri-pod and my small camera on the big building of CBS News. The atmosphere not as wet. I see lightning far away. There are ten minutes thant the wind has just risen.  Obviously, Isaac Hurricane is coming soon. It seems that is the most important Hurricane since… Wind will there. Katrina, do you remember ?

RBSP : me revoil脿 脿 Cap Canaveral pour mon 14猫me lancement

J’en suis donc 脿 mon 5猫me (depuis la navette 135), mon quatorzi猫me en tout !

RBSP : I'm back at Cape Canaveral for my 14th launch
Since I saw my 9th launch from Cape Canaveral, so Atlantis (STS) 135 July 8, 2011, I followed most rocket take-off of NASA : a Delta IV (16 July 2011), Curiosity  (Mars Roover Laboratory, MRL) November 26, 2011, SpaceX le 22 mai 2012. I’m in my 5th launch-trip (since the shuttle 135), my fourteenth in my life.
That it has become a ordinariness to receive my badges. It suffices to show that there I was a time before. Although, now NASA employees recognize as the little Swiss journalist, which (the Switzerland, not me) is still dreaming. Better. So here I’m on track to launch RBSP (Radiation Belt Storm Probes), U.S. satellite that will measure solar radiation around the Earth, including the famous Von Allen belt that disrupt manned space missions. I'll tell you more.

Elle est o霉 l’茅conomie ?

The computer-rack and the pretty desk check-in girls
Ah, la., la. It’s finish with pretty checking-girls ? Increasingly, airports are to ask customers to go to a computer-rack to validate their ticket and print it. At the beginning, I was disgusted, but now I'm getting used. Finally, it’s really not complicated. Question: Is it better to do automate-processes like that to save costs or pay a pretty girl who earn her living and pay taxes, which will be reinvested to pay customs? Frankly, where the economy ? Nah, I prefer the nice receptionists. First, it's more fun and then it will just as quickly, because  anyway we must put our luggage on a roll-out desk near a receptionist, even after pulling our ticket to the computer-rack.
