A young Swiss firefighter discovered the honorable volunteer firefighters from Cape Canaveral
Jerome Hirth, a volunteer firefighter of Switzerland, has just spent several hours at Cape Canaveral Volunteer Fire Department (CCVFD) in Florida. The young man, 20, became the second Swiss firefighter to be officially invited at the station that carries the number 53 and is located at 190 Jackson Avenue to the famous city from which the rockets take off. An honor, because here nine years ago, the volunteer firefighter Fanny Thuler had undertaken a training period of three months from the same place (see my various articles below, PDF, only in french).
Jerome is not a novice at all. I was a little embarrassed to face skills of this young firefighter. Because when Allie Newell, one of the firefighters on duty at the time explained the handling gear, Jerome had understand easy. Jerome Hirth was delighted with this short experience. After five years as a young firefighter where he could learn the trade, he worked for two years the job of firefighter at the sation of Moutier: www.crism.ch
Swiss volunteer firefighters have a sound basic training that enables them to carry first aid, to intervene on the fire at all times of floods, insect attacks, oil and even help the ambulance (and ambulance, Fanny became professionally since). « We need us to carry heavy loads », says the young man who is also not an end to surprises in this area, by Cape Canaveral. You'll talk. Keep us faithful !
