A cook light like air |
Son épouse Christine Bachman (née Keller de Pleigne, une lointaine cousine pas directement de ma parenté) est également enseignante en sociologie, également à l’université. Installé à Houston depuis 1984, le couple habite dans une rue tranquille d’un quartier à proximité des buildings, où l’on se croirait presque à la campagne, tellement le territoire est vaste.
Comme à l’accoutume, les Bachman m’on invité à prendre un repas bien texan et oh combien succulent avec eux. Croyez-moi, la nourriture américaine n’est pas si médiocre qu’on veut bien le croire. En famille, les Américains peuvent aussi devenir de bons cuistots. Steak avec une viande aussi tendre que du beurre. Salade de saison assaisonnée et légère comme l’air. Pâtes à l’italienne « al dente » au plus près de la tradition… Voilà vraiment de quoi se régaler. Mhhhh….

Leonard (not Leonardo di Caprio, but almost) is an architect and especially Professor at the University of Texas at Houston. For him, the art of teaching architecture is the science of building with intelligence in an environmental context. Through his new book that he prepares in his field, he wants to popularize architecture by creating a bridge between the side "rational" (left) of our brains and the more « creative » side with art and inspiration.

His wife Christine Bachman (she was born Keller in Pleigne, a distant cousin) is also a professor in sociology at the university, too. Standed in Houston since 1984, these two personnalities lives in a quiet street in a neighborhood near buildings where there is almost like the country, so the territory is extended.
As usual, the Bachman asked me one to eat well and, oh !, so succulent Texan with them. Believe me, American food is not so poor that we want to believe. American’s family can also become good cooks. Steak with meat as tender as butter. Season salad mixted and light like the air. Italian Pasta « al dente » as close to tradition ... This is really something to enjoy. Mhhhh ....
