38 degrés Celsius ? C’est normal pour nous

[ New York, July 19th, 2012, © (rke), english below ] – Brrrr… Enfin du frais. « Avec 27 degrés, on respire cette fois », soupire un des nombreux portiers de l’hôtel Wellington où nous sommes logés : appartement de deux pièces au 7ème étage… euh ciel ! Il faut préciser que les New-Yorkais ont subi mercredi 18 juillet 38,3 degrés Celsius (101 degrés F.), du jamais vu depuis longtemps. « A 27 degrés, ce n’est pas si chaud que ça », confirme Rosalie Collot. Normal, on venait de Miami avec 38 à 39 degrés C. de moyenne. Et de surcroît, on s’est tapé le coup de canicule new-yorkais, puis la tempête comme le montre cette image du New York Post du lendemain. On est passé en plein dedans avec l’avion (enfin presque) et j’ai dû rassurer mes deux miss (Laura et Rosalie) que c’était normal. Normal ? Ce n’est pas un certain président européen qui l’a dit ? Mais je ne sais plus qui, car on oublie vite le français ici, à Manhattan.
